To encourage energy conservation, and in view of the demand by consumers in air-conditioned buildings (based on chillers) to pay according to their actual energy usage, there has been a growing requirement in recent years to supply accurate energy meters for consumer billing according to their actual usage and the time-of-day tariff.
Contel is a pioneer and leader in energy meters in Israel and supplies accurate and reliable Siemens UH-50 ultrasonic meters (without any moving parts), which are operating in dozens of buildings in Israel to the full satisfaction of both users and building management companies.
In buildings where the energy is measured on the water mains lines (dimensions of 150 mm and above), Contel provides energy meters based on magnetic flow meters, also from Siemens.
Most of the systems supplied by Contel incorporate communication with a central computer equipped with ENERCON consumer billing software specially developed for the Israeli market, which takes into account the time-of-day tariffs used by the Israel Electric Corporation.
Contel integrated an MRB module at the Shefa plant in Arad, as part of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software installed at the plant. Material pending an MRB (Material Review Board) is material suspected of being defective, and hence initially kept back from production until tested.
